Will The Energizers Dominate Kick In 2023?
Everything you need to know to watch Open Kick & Senior Kick teams battle for the title at The Dance Worlds 2023.
The high kick category has been a regional competitive option for All Star dance teams for many years, but USASF announced that 2019 would be the first year in which teams could compete for a World Championship title in the high-energy category.
Five talented teams made history by competing in the inaugural year of the Open Kick division. Known for their top-scoring Pom routines, the Energizers were crowned the first-ever Open High Kick World Champions.
After getting second behind the Energizers in 2019, Power of Dance became your 2021 Open Kick World Champions.
Last year, the Energizers beat out six teams to reclaim their title as the 2022 Open Kick Dance World Champions! The performance, dubbed “Eye Of The Tiger”, lived up to both the program name, as well as the performance name. The energy that the Energizers brought to the stage was unmatched, and they used every ounce of it to their advantage to claim the top spot. Dressed in tiger-themed costumes, the team didn’t shy away from embodying cats on the prowl. There was never a dull moment as the Energizers set the bar once again as the queens of Open Kick.
This year at The Dance Worlds 2023, the USASF has introduced Senior Kick to the division lineup! That means this April we will be crowning TWO Kick World Champions at The Dance Worlds!
