USA Cheer announced on Tuesday, Feb. 11 that UNLV and Minnesota dance would wear the stars and stripes at the upcoming 2025 ICU World Cheerleading Championships. USA Cheer has long history of taking home the gold, winning 32 times across the performance cheer jazz, hip hop, and pom divisions since 2009 on the global stage.

The teams were selected after a rigorous video application process that ended in early February. Afterwards, teams were notified and were required to accept within 48 hours.

Once the international competition is complete, the cheer world's attention quickly transitions to a full weekend of the best all-star cheer and dance teams competing at The Cheerleading Worlds and The Dance Worlds 2025 in the same location—which you can watch live and on-demand exclusively on FloCheer.

UNLV, Minnesota Dance Picked To Represent USA Hip Hop, Jazz, and Pom At ICU Worlds

UNLV was selected to represent the country in the Performance Cheer Hip Hop division while the University of Minnesota Dance team will compete in Performance Cheer Pom and Performance Cheer Jazz.

UNLV has been selected to represent the USA before, as recently as in 2022 and 2023—they won gold both times.

It's been 11 years since the University of Minnesota was selected to compete at ICU World Championships for the United States.

The teams will head down to Orlando, FL in late April to compete in the 2025 ICU World Cheerleading Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The ICU World Championships will be streamed live on Olympics.com and is designated as a qualifying event for The World Games 2025 in August in Chengdu, China.

When Are The 2025 ICU World Cheerleading Championships?

The ICU World Cheerleading Championships are between April 23-25 and take place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL.
