Spirit Celebration’s Christmas Classic on Dec. 19-20 is not only a Worlds Bid event, but it promises to showcase some of the best talent from around the globe. 

As one of the last all-star events of 2015, the Christmas Classic features 2015 World Champion teams like the Cheer Athletics Cheetahs and the Cheer Athletics Panthers, who will completely shock the crowd with their jaw-dropping routines. Will they take home the bids again?

Spirit Celebration is giving out two Full Paid Worlds Bids and four At Large Bids. They are also awarding three dance teams a Partial Worlds Bid and five dance teams an At Large Bid - 14 bids in all. At last count 43 Cheer Athletics teams are registered for the event and you can also expect to see teams like Rebel Yell, Express Cheer, Excite, East Texas All Stars and the well known Texas Cutez.  

It’s mid-December, and if you’re not in the holiday spirit yet you will be after your weekend at Spirit Celebration's Christmas Classic.  They are creating a full fledged Toy Story Christmas themed event and in addition competitors are required to each bring one new toy that will be given to the Scottish Rite Hospital, the Dallas Association of the Deaf and “I Can Still Shine”.

One aspect of the Spirit Celebration competitions, that differs from so many other events, is that they recognize the individual athletes as well as the teams. Each athlete has the opportunity to be selected for the WOW award. Throughout the weekend, Victoria Butler, a cheer veteran who has developed the Sparkle Cheer team in Keller ISD for kids with disabilities, heads up the WOW award committee. It is an honor that goes to athletes who show outstanding showmanship and have the gift of completely “WOW”ing  the judges.
