We may have lost a lot, but we haven't lost the heart, soul & spirit of the Victory Vipers. - Vicki Dill, Victory Viper Co-owner & CoachIf you've ever been an all star coach, cheerleader or parent, you know how important the gym and atmosphere is for the athletes. For most, it's a second home, a second family and a place to grow… It's so much more than just a building.
This became all too real for one of our very own writers yesterday in Sugarland, Texas. Around 3:41pm, firefighters rushed to the Victory Sports Cheer and Dance facility to battle the flames engulfing 20+ years of memories and hard work. Vicki Dill, co-owner and coach, tells us more.
"I'm heartbroken and in shock. This has been my life for 20 years. Tens of thousands of kids have grown up here and made some of their best memories and friends inside the walls of this gym. But...the show MUST go on...we have the best families, the best kids and this won't stop us. We may have lost a lot, but we haven't lost the heart, soul and spirit of the Victory Vipers."
The Victory Viper athletes are heartbroken, but will not let this unfortunate tragedy keep them down.
With their entire facility and equipment destroyed, the Victory Vipers are looking for help and support from the all star and local community. If you'd like to help, visit their gofundme page or just leave a message of encouragement below. Former athlete, Danielle Bily said it best:
"Like any tumbling pass, any stunt…when you fall, you get back up again..."And that's exactly what the Victory Vipers will do with the help of friends and family. #ViperStrong
