The Summit and World Champions of Cheer Athletics in Plano, Texas attended a ring ceremony celebration last week, complete with tears and memories that will last a lifetime.
Many of the athletes will be returning to the program to compete, but the hard work and passion that each team experienced together can never be replicated. Team bonds are special and these teams in particular have one more victory to celebrate before they prepare for another year of competition.
All dressed in their best, the athletes and coaches who are usually dressed in practice wear, attended a meet and greet complete with snacks and a very special surprise. Sharon Swain, parent to CA coach and athlete Victoria Swain, supplied appetizers, sweet treats and a giant rotating cake featuring a Worlds style globe and championship ring.
Hannah Morgan, a member of the Thundercats team, reflects on the 2015-2016 season.
The end of year event was one to remember as each team member was presented with their ring by their coaches - who also worked incredibly hard preparing for these victories. Four of the teams in attendance were undefeated for the entire 2015-2016 season: KittyKatz, Swooshcats, Wildcats and Cheetahs. That's a pretty impressive feat for teams who compete at multiple high-profile events like CA.
