They dressed the part in their golden themed costumes, they looked the part with their choreography and they even played the part when they revealed their props! 

John Carroll Catholic Middle School Dance Team just executed a hip hop routine that won't be forgotten at the 2017 UDA National Dance Team Championship! The team performed a tribute to the late Gene Wilder, the main character in the popular movie Willy Wonka, by choreographing a Wonka themed dance. This routine included unique movements that perfectly fit the song they chose to perform to - 'Pure Imaginations'. 

Right before the end of the performance, a ripple began and everyone whipped out their golden tickets! After revealing this fun filled prop to the crowd, they choreographed visual movements using the oversized tickets. 


Head coach, Devin Khoury Kilgore, told us more about what inspired of her choreography.

After the death of Gene Wilder, we watched Willy Wonka and felt inspired to create something in his memory. Today we used the golden tickets as an added prop. For finals, we have another surprise trick up our sleeves to wow the fans!
