Vancouver Ice Queens Reunite On The Worlds Mat After 12 Days Apart
The Vancouver Ice Queens reunite on the mat at The Cheerleading Worlds after 12 days apart.

Relive the most prestigious competition of the season, The 2017 Cheerleading Worlds.

Vancouver All Stars Ice Queen's first full out in 12 days was on the mat in front of a screaming crowd for the International Open All Girl L5 Canadian Trials at The Cheerleading Worlds. Nearly half of the VAS Ice Queens spent that time training to represent Team Canada at the ICU World Cheerleading Championships.

Ice Queens head coach Liz Gigante Ulrich said she didn't get to reunite her squad until 9 PM on Friday night after the ICU Championships had concluded.
Team Canada took its place on the ICU podium as it claimed the bronze medal on Friday in the All Girl Premier division. The VAS-Team Canada athletes are hoping to hang another medal around their necks before heading back to Port Coquitlam, British Columbia

The Ice Queens started with a young team this year after 17 girls retired after last season.
"A lot of people counted them out, a lot of people wrote them off," Ulrich said.
Ulrich expected them to have a few doubts and struggles in the routine, but she said she is so proud of how well they did for their first full out back together as team in almost two weeks.
"What we are most proud of is the team's mental toughness, especially as a young team," Ulrich said after their Canadian Trials performance. "We did a lot of mental training knowing our circumstances but the pressure of Worlds can get the best of even the most weathered athletes.
The judges don't care if we didn't have our girls for 13 days. We knew we had to HIT. I could not be prouder of this next era of Ice Queens.
