Cheerleading Makes A Breakthrough At Cirque Du Soleil

Cirque du Soleil celebrated International Artist Day last week by sharing 21 fascinating facts about their talented artists and performers.

Fact number 19 featured Fer Chacon, Martin Carmona Cheer ll, Taylor Strauch, Trey Forsyth — the first cheerleaders ever to be featured in a Cirque du Soleil show.

The cheerleaders earned a combined 11 world titles before taking the stage with other world-renowned Cirque du Soleil artists. Now instead of competing for championship titles, they spend their time touring the Mediterranean as they perform in the show "Cirque du Soleil at Sea."

The mission of Cirque du Soleil is to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses, and evoke the emotions of people around the world. As cheerleading encompasses all of those things, it's no surprise our wonderful sport has made its way into the spotlight with the largest theatrical producer in the world.

Cheerleaders are taking over the world one day at a time — what will they accomplish next?
