Cheer Factory Aims To Repeat In Senior Small Pom

A whopping 27 teams competed today in the Prelims for Senior Small Pom at The 2019 Dance Worlds. Going in, there was no clear favorite, because the talent in this division is out of this world (no pun intended). There were themes, costumes, and poms of every color imaginable. The division treated the audience to an incredible display of talent, and we watched as some serious stars were born.

Japan, once again, leads the Pom division—not a huge surprise, considering this particular team is the defending champion. Cheer Factory – Evolution took the top spot in Prelims today with an outstanding routine. Complete with electric pink poms and a full squad roll that had us out of our seats, this team proved they will be the ones to beat tomorrow. As they defend their crown, be on the lookout for a precision-based routine with excellent transitions and formations.

The 2018 bronze medalist, Energizers, is currently sitting in the second spot. The squad lived up to its name with a routine so energetic, it felt like it could be a new source of clean energy for the world.

The Energizers are followed very closely by last year’s silver medalist, Dance Mania, which brought a horror-themed routine to Orlando, complete with great costumes, music, and choreography to captivate the audience. These two teams are extremely close going into Finals, and should definitely battle it out tomorrow.

All eyes will be on Cheer Factory once again this year, and that attention is well-deserved. If any of the other teams hope to topple the champs, they'll need to hit their routines harder than they ever have. This division is one where the podium could be decided by the slightest miscue in a turn, or a single dropped pom. It will be an exciting one to witness, and we can’t wait to see who will come out on top!
