Team Pilipinas Serves Up A Gold-Medal Performance In Open Premier Hip Hop
Team Pilipinas (Philippines) came out of the gates with power and style that took them to the top from the very beginning.
Open Premier Hip Hop highlighted some ferocious ladies taking The Dance Worlds by storm. There was a great deal of lady swag going on, and all of the top eight teams put on a tremendous show. The audience was going wild for the teams, and they gave all of that energy right back and then some. No one could’ve done it quite like these ladies did!
Team Pilipinas (Philippines) came out of the gates with power and style that took them to the top from the very beginning. They were the champions in 2018, and they took the lead in this year’s Prelims and never relinquished it. The way they moved with synchronicity had them looking like a well-trained army here to seek and destroy the competition. The best part about the routine, though, was in the moments between the hard-hitting choreography. The moments where the dancers hit the crowd with a sly smirk reminded us just how much fun they were having up there. If anyone didn’t love Hip Hop before, watching this routine would certainly change their minds.
Angels Dance Academy – ADA Dominion (England) kept the program’s strong weekend going in a big way by taking home the silver medal. They brought the house down with an edgy, hard-hitting routine that put the competition on notice.
The USA’s West Coast Royalty came in third with a routine that showcased just how fierce this division can be. They were coming for the podium, and no one was going to stop them!
Atico Ballet & Danza – Realoaded (Ecuador) finished fourth, Music City All Stars finished fifth, Golden State Elite finished sixth, Hamburg Towers (Germany) finished seventh, and Pontificia Universidad Catolica (Chile) finished in eight.
The Nations Cup, which honors the top score from the top 5 countries went home with Team Pilipinas (1st), ADA Dominion (2nd), West Coast Royalty (3rd), Atico Ballet & Danza – Reloaded (4th), and Pontificia Universidad Catolica (5th).
Congratulations to the fierce ladies who competed in this incredible division at The 2019 Dance Worlds. You let the crowd have it, and we’re all winners for getting to watch the show. Shout out to the back-to-back World Champions, Team Pilipinas!
