Now it's time to get to know the 2020 Small Gym September Champions! Next up is Bluegrass Athletics from Nicholasville, Kentucky!
Bluegrass Athletics is dedicated to helping each athlete reach their full potential on and off the mat.
"Our goal is to teach life lessons and life skills, through cheerleading," shared owner, Shannon Richmond. "A large number of the kids will never cheer again after high school. We hope they are learning to be successful in whatever they chose to do and not just learning to tumble and stunt."
Being a small gym is something the coaches and staff at Bluegrass Athletics pride themselves in.
"Being a small gym is like growing up in a small town. All of the coaches know all of the athlete's names, all of the kids are able to get to know each other. The parents are close because they are in the gym as much as we are. It means we can do pool parties and bonfires and Christmas parties and everyone knows everyone. It means we get cards and provide meal trains when gym families have injuries or illnesses, it means that we can take the time to get to know each kid and each family before deciding if they are the right fit instead of signing up everyone that walks through the door. We LOVE all of these things about being a small gym."
