The time of year we’ve all been waiting for is almost here! The Cheerleading Worlds 2022 is the most anticipated competition of the season and although you’ve been following your favorite teams throughout the year, anything can happen on the Worlds mat!

The Cheerleading Worlds 2022 Bid Recipients will be heading to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on April 23-25th and FloCheer is going to break down every division at The Cheerleading Worlds so that you will know what to expect in Orlando, Florida. 

L6 International Open


Division History

The L6 International Open division is anyone's to win! With a max of 24 athletes on the floor at a time these incredible, all girl teams will all be sure to put their best performances on the floor, yet only one team will take home the championship title.

Over the years, Canadian teams have been a strong force in the L6 International Open division. Since 2011, the championship title has been claimed five times by a team from Canada and five times by a team from the United. States.

In 2021, the Level 6 International Open division had seven teams take the floor at The Cheerleading Worlds with hopes of making it onto the podium. FAME All Stars Super Seniors secured their win in 2021. The Cheer Sport Great White Sharks have secured the most first-place finishes in the division, winning back-to-back twice in 2014-2015 and 2018-2019.

The competition in the Level 6 International Open will be fierce when seven U.S.-based all girl teams, and eleven non-U.S.-based teams battle it out for the globe in 2022.

GOLD: FAME All Stars - Midlo - Super Seniors

Final Score: 132.5

FAME All Stars - Super Seniors ended the 2021 season in first place for the first time! This epic win was a comeback like no other, the team found themselves in third place after the Semi-Final round of competition due to their six points in deductions. The team pulled together, stayed focused, and pulled off an incredible routine in Finals to win the gold medals!


SILVER: Rockstar Cheer Pittsburgh - Supermodels

Final Score: 121.4

Rockstar Cheer Supermodels ended the year strong hitting zero in Finals and taking home the silver medals at The Cheerleading Worlds 2021 with a Final score of 121.4! The Supermodels earned an early Paid Bid back to the championship in December of 2022 WSF Louisville Grand Nationals.


BRONZE: Cheer Athletics - Pittsburgh - PlatinumCats

Final Score: 117.1

Cheer Athletics PlatinumCats earned the bronze medals at The Cheerleading Worlds 2021. The team took on the division of seven teams at The Cheerleading Worlds earning a spot on the podium also with a massive comeback. In concluding the Semi-Final round of competition the PlatinumCats suffered from 14 total points in deductions leaving them in sixth place, but the team made an impressive jump up in the standings in Finals to secure their spot on the podium.

JAMfest Cheer Super Nationals

Rockstar Cheer Pittsburgh - Supermodels

The Rockstar Cheer Supermodels have had a great season so far! The team took home first place at JAMfest Cheer Super Nationals putting on a showstopping routine followed by The Stingray Allstars Lavender in second and Cheer Athletics Platinumcats taking third.

CHEERSPORT National All Star Cheerleading Championship

The Stingray Allstars - Marietta - Lavender

Lavender started the season looking to make themselves known and they did just that by winning the 2022 CHEERSPORT National All Star Cheerleading Championship with a 92.9375. The reigning Cheerleading World Champions, Super Seniors, took second in Atlanta with a 91.0667.

NCA All-Star National Championship

Rockstar Cheer Pittsburgh - Supermodels

Coming off a big win at JAMfest, the Supermodels have proved themselves as some serious competition this season. At the 2022 NCA All-Star National Championship, the team held the top spot in the division both days scoring a massive 96.05 to win the championship title.

The Stingray Allstars Lavender finished the weekend in second place with a final score of 93.7333, more than two points behind Supermodels. The four-time division International Open World Champions Cheer Sport Great White Sharks, made their first trip back to the States and took third in the division.


Semi-Finals for the Level 6 International Open division will take place on April 23rd and your 2022 L6 International Open Champions will be crowned in Finals on Sunday, April 24th.
