It was an exciting day of competition in Kansas City as teams took the mat at the Overland Park Convention Center for the 2022 WSA Kansas City. 

Teams from all over Kansas were represented with the largest program being Kansas City Athletic Cheer which brought 12 of their teams to compete in divisions ranging from Tiny to Senior aged levels. 

The Level 2 divisions were stacked with Youth, Junior, and Senior teams. This level always brings out some great routines that challenge the difficulty and technique scores. Kansas City Athletic Cheer's Level 2 Junior team, Steel, brought home the first-place trophy as well as the High Point for this level, AND the Grand Championship Banner. Their routine was full of excitement and unique transitions that brought the energy to the Convention Center!

Dazzle, the Cheer Abilities team from The Cheer Pit Kansas City brought everyone to their feet with an amazing performance! We love to see these athletes show off their hard work and dedication to this sport. 

Flipside and Infinity Cheer Elite brought great routines that showcased some awesome talent. Even though this event was small, we witnessed some really great performances throughout the day.

We can tell that it's getting close to the end of the cheer season because these routines were looking very polished and solid on the floor. This is the time of year when it is so difficult to judge because everyone is hitting great routines! It comes down to the technique of all the skills and how you perform them! We can't wait to see the teams at these last few WSA events in April!
