Open Premier & Open Coed Premier Hip Hop
Division History
The Open Premier and Open Coed Premier Hip Hop divisions have always featured some of the world's most talented dance teams. In 2019 we saw teams from Chile, Germany, Ecuador, England, Columbia, and Japan take the stage at The Dance Worlds.
The divisions are filled to the brim with talented teams that are all capable of delivering show-stopping performances. Unlike the Elite division, which caps the number of dancers at 15, the Premier divisions can have up to 30. More numbers means bigger visuals, more tricks, and more of the floor covered with the freshest Hip Hop moves on the planet.
Previously, the Open Premier Hip Hop division has been dominated by Team Pilipinas from the Philippines. The team claimed the top spot in the division for three consecutive years from 2017-to 2019. Due to the travel restrictions in place from the pandemic, Dollhouse Dance Factory was the only team in 2021 to compete in the Open Premier Hip Hop division and they claimed the championship title with a final score of 84.5.
Prior to 2021, WORLD WINGS 2WDC held the thrown in the Open Coed Premier Hip Hop division. The incredibly talented team also held gold in the division prior to the pandemic from 2017 to 2019.
In 2021, Top Gun All Stars took the world by storm in the Open Coed Premier Hip Hop division and finished their weekend securing their gym's first title at The Dance Worlds!
This weekend, nine teams will battle it out in the Open Premier Hip Hop division and five teams will compete for a globe in the Open Coed Premier Hip Hop division. Neither Dollhouse Dance Factory or Top Gun All Stars will be competing in the Open Premier Hip Hop divisions so fans will see two brand new champions being crowned at The Dance Worlds 2022!
