Maryville Takes Down Kentucky In Game 1 Of STUNT Nationals
In Game 1 of the 2022 College STUNT National Championship, the University of Kentucky faced off against veteran program Maryville University.
Game 1 of the 2022 College STUNT National Championship consisted of the University of Kentucky taking on STUNT Nationals for the first time against Maryville University.
The first quarter started strong with partner stunts between Kentucky and Maryville. Maryville scored the first point and took the lead while the Wildcats forfeited routine 8 making the score 2-1.
The second quarter focused on Basket Tosses and Pyramids. Maryville took the first 3 points while Kentucky managed to tie when performing routine 5 against the veteran team. This closed out the quarter 6-3 with Maryville in the lead.
Heading into the 3rd Quarter, Kentucky put on a fierce competition against Maryville and tied in two of the four routines they did while also scoring a point of their own. Tumbling and Jumps ended and Maryville extended their lead to 9-6.
Maryville stayed strong in the last quarter adding seven more points to their score and winning the game 17-8.
With the win, Maryville will go on to face California Baptist tomorrow at 10:15 AM CT, and the Kentucky Wildcats will move on to the lower bracket and face the loser of Varsity Game #6.
