Navarro College Cheer Coach Monica Aldama Retires
Navarro College Cheerleading coach Monica Aldama, one of the sport's greatest coaches and stars of the Netflix Show 'CHEER' announced her retirement.
One of the most accomplished cheer coaches ever announced her retirement, Navarro College announced Monica Aldama's retirement on their school's social media page on Nov. 29.

Aldama retired with 17 national titles as she helped create one of the most famous cheer programs in the world. Her program at Navarro College became a pop-culture touchstone when it was featured on the popular Netflix show "Cheer."

Navarro Cheer won two national championships in 2023, the 2023 Advanced Large Coed National Champions and the 2023 Gameday Open National Champions.
'The Queen' Monica Aldama Retires
Aldama, 51, took over the cheer team in the state of Texas in the late 1990s and has been the coach for more than 25 years. She was inducted into the Navarro College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019.
