Flyers Set To Knock Out NCA

The largest national championship of the competitive season is set to take place this weekend in Dallas, TX with well over 1000 teams from all over the country coming to battle it out for a title.

NCA All-Star continues to draw in the best of the best from the United States, and now, the world’s best have begun to take on Texas as well. In the past several years, there has been an increase in the number of international teams in attendance, and that trend has continued in 2019. This season, an exciting new contender is making their way south for the first time and has their sights set on the coveted megaphone trophy and black championship jackets.

Get ready, NCA, Flyers Allstarz Knockout is coming in hot!

Flyers Allstarz has been one of the most successful non-USA teams at The Cheerleading Worlds, claiming 4 world titles and 13 medals overall (9th most of any gym in the world). Knockout has been a large part of that story, with their top performance notching them a World title in 2017. They are known for their outrageous stunt sequences, as well as being some of the cleanest performers on the planet.

This season, they are looking for new challenges, and new ways to make an impact on the sport.

Traveling to the United States can prove to be difficult for international teams to do, especially knowing that they’ll be back for Worlds later in the spring. However, the allure of NCA has proven to be enticing enough for the ladies of Knockout to make the journey for their first time.

Coach Vanessa Jacob-Monette told us, “The girls really wanted a new challenge, so we decided to bring them. We are really excited to have Knockout competing on the biggest stage in the cheerleading industry!”

She also told us that they are excited to have an opportunity to travel together to bond, and to get mentally ready for Worlds in a new way that they haven’t done before. When asked what the girls were looking forward to the most, she responded: “the event itself, seeing all the best cheerleading teams in the world, and being part of this amazing experience”. For those who have been to watch the competition in the Arena at NCA, you know exactly what she means.

In addition to traveling to NCA for the first time ever, Knockout will also be competing in the inaugural Global division. For the first time, teams on the NCA (and Worlds) floor will be incorporating a cheer into their performance before tackling a full 2:30 All Star style routine.

New divisions can always come with a cautious audience, but Knockout hopes to hit the NCA stage with a bang and get the crowd on their side.

“It is rare that you can be part of something new in our sport, and having the chance to be part of it is an honor.” - Jacob Monette

Make sure to keep an eye out for their chant section, as they hope to innovate and bring a fresh look to the idea of a traditional cheer.

Over 3 days of competition, teams will bring their very best to Dallas to prove that they are, indeed, the best of the best. NCA has long been known for being the most competitive event of the season, and there’s no doubt that the 2019 event will be the same.

With Flyers Allstarz finally throwing their hat into the ring, the prestige of the event will only be greater. And, in a brand new division, it’s sure to be an exciting debut.

Make sure that you catch these ladies in the Arena this Saturday at 8:27 AM CT, for it’s surely a show you don’t want to miss. Just make sure you’ve got your dukes up, because Flyers is going for the Knockout.
