Just a few more days until Dallas is invaded with cheerleaders. It’s NCA AllStar Nationals and it will take everyone at least a week to recover from the excitement. It is one of the largest cheerleading events in the world and for most teams it is the pinnacle event of their year next to Worlds for the Level 5 teams.  The competition begins on Friday, February 19th. Here are 10 facts about NCA AllStar Nationals.

1) Cheer teams will be competing in seven different halls and dance teams will be in the theatre so there will be eight competition floors in all.

2) Teams representing 37 states from the U.S.A. are competing.

3) There are teams from seven other countries besides the United States including Japan, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, England and Chile

4) The largest division at the competition is the L5 Senior Small Coed with 34 teams competing.

5) There are roughly 982 teams competing at NCA/NDA AllStar Nationals

6) Texas has the most teams at the competition.

7) NCA is giving out eight Paid cheer bids to Worlds and 16 At Large cheer bids = 24 total.

8) Teams competing in the dance divisions have the opportunity to win five Partial Paid Bids and nine At Large bids =14 total.

9) NCA Nationals will be giving out a total of 30 bids to the Summit.

10) The earliest recorded winner of NCA AllStar Nationals is from 1988, the Gulf Breeze Sports Association Gulf Breeze, FL.
